Cynthia Thyfault, Founder and CEO of QuantaVision, grew up on a farm in central Kansas, where her early life deeply influenced her respect for nature and the opportunities that agriculture could provide. These formative experiences have shaped her professional philosophy, driving her unwavering commitment to delivering services that create financial, environmental, and social impact—values that resonate in every project she leads.

Professional Journey and Achievements

Cynthia's professional journey is marked by her pioneering work in the advanced biofuels industry since 2007, where she has played a critical role in the development and financing of cutting-edge biofuel and biochemical technologies. Her expertise is frequently sought after regarding best practices for strategic management, risk management and mitigation, and sustainable development practices

She is also a frequent contributor for business and trade publications and a sought-after speaker at national and international industry conferences.  From 2011 to 2015 she toured the globe and spoke at many international air shows and conferences on SAF financing as a part of the CAAFI delegation.  She holds a bachelor’s degree in business with an emphasis on international business and marketing from West Texas A&M University. She has also completed business leadership and marketing training through the Darren Hardy Business Master Class (VIP), High Performance Forum and the Heroes Journey Leadership Courses. Ms. Thyfault has also completed a course from Berkeley Law and Ceres on ESG:  The Board’s Role, which is designed to help corporate directors better understand their role with regards to the environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues of the companies they lead.

Cynthia has also received several national and international peer-reviewed awards including “Top 100 People in the Bioeconomy” from the Biofuels Digest in 2016 and 2017, and “Top 500 People Globally in the Bioeconomy” in 2023 and 2024. She also received a CAAFI Special Award in December 2018 honoring her significant contributions to enabling successful financing of alternative jet fuel production facilities.

Public Service

Cynthia serves as the Chairman of the Energy Subcommittee for the National Rural Lenders Association (NRLA), where she leads the organization’s efforts related to the USDA Rural Energy for America (REAP) program and the 9003 Biorefinery Loan Guarantee Program. NRLA is dedicated to advocating for USDA Guaranteed Lending programs that foster rural economic development, both within USDA and in Congress.

Cynthia also previously served as an appointed member, Chairman Emeritus (and is one of 36 members nationwide) and as the Chairman for the Global Decarbonization Subcommittee for the sixth charter on the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Advisory Committee (“REEEAC”).  She was appointed to serve on the REEAC from 2012-2022.  REEEAC advises the United States Department of Commerce Secretary on competitiveness issues facing U.S. renewable energy and energy efficiency exports. The committee also provides advice on the development and administration of programs and policies to expand U.S. renewable energy, trade policy negotiations relating to U.S. energy efficiency exports, and the policies of foreign governments impacting the export of U.S. energy services and technologies.

Her public service contributions extend across other various boards and committees, where she advises on international market access, financing operations. ESG standards, green bond criteria, and climate-related financial disclosures, including several significant

industry groups, including the Global Impact Investing Network, the Climate Bonds Initiative, and the Commercial Alternative Aviation Fuels Initiative (CAAFI).
