Scaling the North Face — Financing Circular Fuel with Cross-Border Partners

Challenge - DD Biofuel, a Canadian cleantech company, aimed to develop a facility that converts dairy processing waste into ethanol in partnership with Michigan Milk Producers Association, a U.S.-based dairy co-op. The project required navigating binational regulations, structuring USDA financing, and securing a critical offtake agreement—without which progress had stalled.

Our Role - QuantaVision provided end-to-end strategic support, including preparation of a USDA-aligned feasibility study and guidance on REAP loan requirements. We also brokered a pivotal connection with LanzaJet, securing the project’s offtake agreement and enabling further commercialization efforts. Our advisory services extended to evaluating U.S. and international tax incentives and planning for a future USDA 9003 application.

Result - With capital now in motion and key partnerships secured, DD Biofuel’s project is advancing as a model of binational, circular-economy innovation. QuantaVision’s role in unlocking federal funding and structuring investor engagement helped transform a stalled opportunity into a sustainable growth trajectory.
